An emerging CT artist and Simsbury native, Chris O'Herron creates portraits in charcoal, pastel or oil. The Illustration program at Syracuse University, from which Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2001, let him learn a variety of media, introduced him to the professional art world and whet his appetite for painting. Without doubt the most significant part of his education, in 2000 Chris had the good fortune to study and create art in Florence, Italy.
Interested in broadening and exploring new subject matter, Chris is currently honing his craft using the New England landscape as well as its various man-made environments. Endless inspiration comes from the tobacco fields, people and semi-rural settings where he grew up.
Chris currently lives in Burlington, CT and works out of a studio in the former Collins Company building, aka The Axe Factory, located in Collinsville (Canton), CT.
