The painting on the left is a 9" x 11" oil color-sketch or "color-comp" of a portrait for the Christopher family. This is a preliminary step sometimes necessary when doing a large full-figure oil portrait in order to help the artist and the client visualize the end result. The finished 22" x 26" painting is to the right.
